Wildebeest
I came to the Mara River in Northern Tanzania specifically to see the Wildebeest migration crossing the river.
The crocodiles are waiting, so the Wildebeest are first very cautious, then very determined.
(Each Wildebeest seemed sure it would be best for some other Wildeebest to go first!)

| Massing, dithering over whether to cross or not.
| Not everybody makes it

| The current pulls the Wildebeest line into an arc

| A grumpy elephant tries to block the crossing.

| But the Wildebeest keep coming.
| It can be a steep climb at the end

| Where's Mom? Calves and mothers are often separated.

| Another Wildebeest gets separated and hits trouble
| That's quite a jump up to the upper bank.
| Yes, the crossings really are risky
